A Future Beyond Madness

A place of things happening.

The Last Lost Kingdom of Hope

Well it looks like the long drawn out madness of finding a new place to live is over. Eliot, Eric and I found a place off of Method Road, within walking distance of Neomonde. We got it by doing a lease transfer with the current lease holders, but that means we have to deal with them instead of just the management company, and things are getting weird.

Technically it is our place as of today, but we were nice and gave them the weekend to move out (our mistake). Now, because Eliot’s lease for his old apartment runs out today, he has no where to live. He dropped all of his stuff off at the new house, but can’t sleep there because three people are still moving out. Don is allowing Eliot to crash over here at my current residence, and I’m going to move out after the current residents have gotten all of their crap out of the house.

Eric’s lease expires on Monday, and he’ll be using the Uhaul Eliot used tomorrow (Friday) to move his stuff to the new place. Afterwards he’ll be sleeping over here too! SLUMBER PARTY. Don and Celine are heading up north for the 4th of July weekend, so we’re going to be looking after Yuki for them.

We’ll be giving these guys an ultimatum tomorrow to get all of their stuff out by Monday, and we’ll deal with transferring the utilities over after they move out. One of them still hasn’t signed the lease transfer, which means that we are legally able to stay there, but he is liable for the July rent, as crazy as that sounds. We also have their security deposit, and we decide how much of it they get back, which seems nuts.

Interesting times still ahead, with an end in sight.

Prospective Den of Inequity Found.

Eliot and I already took a walk through this really awesome house off of Carry Parkway, today I’m going to see it with Eric. If it meets his approval (it will) then we’re going to jump on it. Just leap up and down and shatter our new living place.

It’s a little lopsided in the bedroom square footage, but that downside pales compared to the ridiculous floor space on the first floor and the basement. Eliot wants to put in a ping-pong table down there, and I’ve already estimated that four Warhammer tables could fit with more walking around room than in the old back room of Fanboy.

Decently sized kitchen with lots of counter-top space, no washer or dryer so we’re going to have to wash our clothes in the creek out back.

The Quest to Live.

Hello all, I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus because of finals and semester ending non-sense. With all that out of the way, I begin my great Quest to Live. This is a dual stage process that shall be going on simultaneously. Stage one is finding a Place to Live. Stage two is Finding a Job.

Stage one has some groundwork going, I’ve already made contacts with a couple of the physics graduate students I know up here, and we’re going to look for a three bedroom place. We’re going to be looking around in the $1200 range, and this is really going to open up our options.

Stage two is going to be me scouring the hell out of craigslist and the WRAL website for jobs today. I’ll get a list going and start making some contacts.

SUPER EXPLOSION ROBOT BANGAI-O!

At long last I shall be playing the perfect game:

My love of explosions, missiles, and robots is actualized like never before. Long have I awaited this remake of the fucking incredible Dreamcast game by the same name. There was a Bangai-O game for the Nintendo DS, but it could only do so much with so small a screen, Bangai-O was a game screaming for a remake in HD. Now that finals are finally over I can blow shit up till my heart’s content…

I think this should explain everything

With regards to why I am moving out:

I’ll have more details when I head to the Wilmington Zone this weekend.

SPORT FACTORY.

This will be the state of sports beyond the year 3000:

Well, team Truelove and Warren is ending.

The hellish frozen Raleigh waste land

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am going to have to find a new Den of Infamy from which to cast my dark majiks. So it looks like I’m going to have a decent number of posts cataloging my Hunt for Home (with a capital ‘H’).

If any of you Raleigh denizens have any tips for apartment hunting in this mid state hellscape, they would be very much appreciated.

The Deamons that plague us.

Humble Indie Bundle 3!

Well, the title is actually a bit of a misnomer now. It is an actual indie developer, but it is a bundle of only one developer, Frozenbyte. The past two bundles were from numerous different game developers. That doesn’t stop the magic! One of the included games made waves on Steam when it was first released, Trine, some kind of fancy co-op physics platformer. The other game, Shadow Grounds and it’s sequel game Survivor, is a third person shooting action fest. Looks pretty fun. Also included is a game that Frozenbyte never finished, called Jack Claw, kind of bionic commando meets Half-Life 2 gravity gun game play. AND you get Splot, a fun looking puzzle game, which isn’t finished yet and will be released in full to humble bundle buyers when it is.

I’m getting this simply because of Trine, which is worth whatever you are willing to shell out, because like the past two humble bundles, you pay whatever amount you want. Be generous if you decide to get it! Don’t be a dick that only gives $0.01, because the money goes to charity and the developers (or all charity if that’s how you feel).

And it’s all DRM free.

This here be a first post.

No real clue what I’ll be putting up on this blog-o-mine. Probably just what ever random thought enters my head.

Test test, picture time:

A wistful expression of longing.
